Sooooo! We have a lot to catch up on now that the dog project is finished, don't we?First of all, I went to this amazing Lizzo show on May 5, and I was beyond thrilled to take photos of the performance. Her new album is on constant replay in our household (don't worry, we've had many conversations with Ezra about appropriate language in music vs. appropriate language in life). SO. MANY. DANCE. PARTIES.I took photos of Lizzo back in 2012 when she lived in Minneapolis at several smaller clubs (The Entry, Triple Rock and over at First Avenue), but it was thrilling to see her at The Palace because she is on the verge of big arena shows right now. Oh, and I also photographed her singing at a dear friend's wedding one time (!!!). Watching musicians make it big is about the most fun thing ever. Enjoy the photos!

This is Utah! How adorable is he?!? He's only 10 weeks old, and ... was adopted before I could even post about him in the first week of May. But who doesn't want to see more puppy photos, eh? Plus it's always good to still post about the dogs in case they are returned.So today is June 1, which means my dog project is over! Both happy and sad news.The happy news is that I featured 29 dogs who needed homes this month, and FIFTEEN of them got adopted (at press time). Guys! That's more than half! Isn't that great! I'm still holding out hope for the tougher cases like Wash. Anyway, good work team! This is Biscuits. He had a sibling named Gravy. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??Both Biscuits and Gravy were adopted quickly (I never even got to photograph Gravy), but I wanted to show him off to you anyway. Meet Milou! As soon as I photographed this girl, I could think of 3-4 friends who would love to bring her home. But she was adopted 2 days later!This girl is a one year old shih tzu mix. She was found in the mountains of Kentucky and was in foster for a few weeks learning how to live with a family again. She's super friendly and super smart and loves to play with her dog toys. She doesn't do well with tiny kids, but loves older ones. She's ok with other dogs, but does guard her food, so she's working on that.I'm so happy someone brought her home! This is Carmie and isn't she adorable?? She was adopted just a few days after I shot these photos, and I am so happy she found her forever home.She came here via Kentucky and had been in foster care for more than a year! Carmie loves, loves, loves other dogs, trips to the dog park, sleeping in your bed and women. Yup, women. She's a touch timid with new people, but she warmed up great in the studio. Ok. Here we are. This is Pixie and Poppy, and they are the last adoptable dogs this month. Don't worry! I have way more photos of rescue dogs coming to fill out the week, but all those dogs got adopted within days of their new photos being taken, so they never ran as adoptable. But of course I still want you to see their sweet faces!But back to these two. They are kinda like the Golden Girls. They are around 11 years old and they are bonded, which means they need to go to a new home together. They are almost blind and deaf. The have trouble with their back legs, so walking is tough and they kinda stumble around. All of that said, their foster mom says they are both wildly affectionate.These ladies need to land where someone works from home (or is retired and home a lot). They need a calm and quiet place with no small kids and no big dogs. If you think you might be the perfect fit for these ladies, you can reach out to Pet Haven rescue. This is Caden. He is a tripod and it is a modern miracle that I did not just scoop him up and bring him home with me after taking his photo. But I guess that wasn't necessary because in the two days after his shoot, he was adopted! So he's no longer available. Instead, let's just be happy that he found a great home so fast!His information is below, for those that are curious.Caden is just about one year old and was rescued from Kentucky with a broken leg that was severely infected and had to be removed. But you guys, he is THE HAPPIEST and friendliest and most wonderful guy about it! He's just so dang grateful to be feeling better!He loves other dogs, he loves people and he wants to snuggle all day long. He is not crate trained, but he does just fine with full run of the house. Because he was rescued after growing up a little wild, he is in need of training. But he truly is just a delight. I think training him would only help build the bond.He was being fostered by Safe Hands Rescue and you can find their other dogs here. This is Emma, and she is a hoot!Emma is a four-year-old chihuahua who has been in foster for 2 months. She has a rare neurological issue where she... sort of dances? All the time? Her foster mom described it best by saying it just looks like she's had too much tequila at all hours of the day. That's how she walks. But she's not in pain and she's happy as a clam.She sticks by her people (and loves to sleep next to you in bed). She is good with other dogs, cats and kids.
