lemme get you a discount!

post by leslie

I think you all know by now how much I love my photo albums. If you are going to TAKE photos, you need to print them out somewhere! It's so much better to hold them in your hand.I was talking about this over on Instagram this week, and I mentioned that I get all my printed gifts from Pinhole Press (they are my fave), and they gave me a discount to share with all my clients! So if you would like your own photo album or calendar or darling little memory game for your kiddos, you can get 20% off your order until October 23 if sign up for my newsletter right quick (I'll send the code out this afternoon). In the meantime, here are some of my favorite albums. I do one each year at Ezra's birthday so we can remember things in order (since I'm horrible at dating actual photo prints). And for your internet shares of the day:+ A lovely dress for holiday parties.+ Candy wrappers made for origami!+ Stop judging moms.

Peavey Plaza

post by leslie

I met up with some dear friends and their 1 year old this weekend for some photos, and they chose the new Peavey Plaza downtown for their location. I hadn't been down there since they started up the fountains again, and I was excited to check out the new design. And it has a giant reflection pool in the middle for kids and dogs to play in! What a treat! This was a perfect spot for a toddler to play as the water is only maybe an inch deep, and the splashing around was so much fun.And what a serene spot in the middle of downtown. I highly suggest you check it out if you haven't already!

in the thick of it

I love this little girl and her curiosity and her wonder. I love it that each year when I get to her house, she asks me if I want to see her room, and we run up the stairs and see all her new things. I love how patient she is with her dog and how she holds my hands to drag me over to the gnome and fairy houses by the pond.I am just so lucky that this family found me and that I get to see them year after year. And I feel this way about SO MANY of my clients, and you guys, I really do have the best job!

sweet June

post by leslie

Oh sweet June! This dog was SO well behaved! No, she's not up for adoption. She was rescued years and years ago down in North Carolina and man did her mom do a great job training this pup.We had a marvelous time in the studio last week, and Magda was more than a little miffed when I came home with June's scent ALL over me. Poor girl!Ok, some internet shares of the day:+ I made one of my favorite dinners last night and will be eating leftovers all week. I promise you'll love it unless you are my child. (I sub out feta for the goat cheese).+ Where Beyoncé belongs. Sidenote, I've always wanted to go here and see these statues -- since I first heard about them at age 7!+ A wonderful way to surprise someone.

A few weeks back I shot my last wedding of the year, and it was fantastic. It was a super mellow couple who had a fantastic day in a gorgeous location surrounded by people that made them laugh to the point of tears. And hooo boy did they have a great dance floor party going! Here are some of my favorite images from their day. Enjoy. Oh! And as usual, the fabulous Lucy was my second shooter. I seriously could not do this job as well without her at my side.

back at first avenue

Look who made it out to a show last night! Man, it has been a while (May, I think?). Anyway, last night I saw K Flay last night. She is one of the artists that I saw at SXSW back in ... 2012 maybe? 2013? A long time ago. And I still remember the energy she brought to the short set back then, and I thought at that performance that I should see her in Minneapolis some time. And last night was finally the time! For your internet share of the day, let's all move to the mountains of Italy, eh? THEY WILL PAY US TO DO IT!

oh hello there!

Sometimes, particularly with kids around 1 year old, I get the *most* fantastic expressions! Like the one above.Oh, how I love these photos! I know they aren't exactly what the parents are looking for when they hire me, but I try to include the more "regular" images as well (as seen below). But these shots? These are among my favorites!
