Today, my fabulous buddy Leah stopped by with a bunch of amazing balloons for Ezra's birthday (she's early -- and amazingly sweet), and I love how the dinosaur's eye is the same color as Magda's. But Magda? She's a bit terrified of the balloons. Poor girl. She'll get used to them :)OK. For your internet share of the day, have you heard about The Cyber Party? I think you're about to. This week I'm a slave to the computer, as I attempt to process and edit all the many, many photos taken in the last two weeks. And you guys, the weather outside is GLORIOUS. I really can't wait to get out there (she says longingly from her desk while gazing down at the street below). In the meantime, these fish were an outtake from the aquarium this weekend, and you know how I love photos of fish.I have a few internet shares for you today. First, can you tell which is a moon and which is a frying pan? Happy to report I got that one right. Second, I would like this art installation in my house please. And third, this article about Generation Z fascinated me to no end. Very different from the millennials... I wonder if this will be Ezra's generation?

Today wrapped up my big summer shoot with 3M, and we finished early with champagne. That's how I like to roll.On the way home, I drove by the lake and loved seeing all the people enjoying the end of the season from the beach. You have the teenagers sunning and jumping from the diving platform, you have the serious swimmers, the families and those just wanting to cool off. You also have the sail boats in the distance. It was quite lovely.I am truly hoping to work from my jammies tomorrow... but we'll see. Then I'm hoping for a wonderful holiday weekend. For your internet shares today, this first photo is AMAZING. How are they all the exact same size? I feel like it looks like something from one of the Star Wars clone movies. And for all you camera / photographer people out there, have you seen this? I still feel foolish using my phone as a camera, but this does take it to a new level.
I'm on set all week for more 3M shoots, and today we got to play with these for props! A few of them are mine, and some belong to other members of the crew, but it's always so fun to open up and play with antique cameras. I was beginning to arrange these when it was time to begin shooting the other set we were working on, and when I returned these were all ready to go for their own shoot, so I never had time to straighten them properly for my (unimportant) blog. Today I will be snapping photos from 8 am until 7:30 pm. Soooo... I'm just gonna get this blog post out of the way and show you the beautiful and charming couple I photographed getting married last weekend. I'll do a full post later, but I thought this was a nice image to tide you over.For your internet shares of the day, this is the biggest shark I have ever seen and I am never going into the ocean again. But let's all take a breath from that and laugh at the new Macklemore video, eh? Here we have the lovely wedding of Mo and Paddy, which I shot last weekend. My very favorite thing about this couple (other than the bride's hair) was that the groom made his wife laugh over and over and over again. I love seeing couples that absolutely delight each other, and this was no exception. Oh! And there were kilts! And bagpipes! That was fun as well. More photos below -- enjoy!*

When Jamie and I first moved to the Twin Cities (more than a dozen years ago), we rented a fabulous house in St. Paul. We lived near this little "village" called St. Anthony Park, and there was a fantastic neighborhood bookstore that I loved. This little area is also where the library was, a great restaurant, a bakery, a few shops, and most importantly, my dentist.If you know much about me, you know I have my fair share of dental woes. And you guys, I have the best dentist in the world. I truly adore him.Anyway, so when we bought our home in Minneapolis, we never switched dental practices. We are nothing if not loyal, and this is why today I was over in my old neighborhood, getting a cavity-free report (yay!) and window shopping at that quaint bookseller.I might have mentioned here before, that I haven't cracked an actual book all summer (well, I did read one). But instead I've been listening to audio books downloaded for free from the library. Oh you guys, the library is the best thing in the world, is it not? Anyway, this is what stopped me from going in. With daycare costs (which I could rant about for years and years), I'm on a stricter budget these days, and the library is making me very happy.But I did have to snap a photo of this sign because holy cow, look at that beautiful dog! It looks to be an Afghan hound, but it reminds me of my boy Merlin. Dear, sweet, Merlin.For your internet share today, the state fair has begun! And here's an article on what you should eat.
