Today I had a full day of photographing people brushing their teeth. I tell you what, I cannot make this stuff up! But it was super fun as I had amazing models, a FABULOUS location and some super creative and fantastic stylists/art directors. I love working with an amazing team to create beautiful images -- especially when there's great humor and a relaxed crew. These guys up here were some of my models. I had my camera tethered to my computer -- I was shooting in a spectacular bathroom, and the art director was in the bedroom next door watching the images come into my computer. While I was photographing one child, the rest of the kids would gather round to watch the images come in. How cute are they here!? Waiting to see photos of their friends! I love it!For your internet share of the day, I love this battle that a graffiti artist took on. And these are some amazing baby toys if you need ideas for a gift (Ezra has and loves no. 6). And if you love Orphan Black like I do, this will make you laugh.
Yesterday, I had a huge shoot at the studio for Post-It Notes. As you can tell from the props in the photos, it was waaaayyy more fun than just those amazingly useful little sticky pads. I had a fantastic styling team at my side, and since it was so glorious outdoors, we used the new patio out back as our staging area (where I snapped these photos). The internet share today is going out to all you "outdoorsy" people. I am not outdoorsy, nor would I ever claim to be. But! If I *did* enjoy sleeping on the ground surrounded by biting bugs and potential ax murderers, here is a wonderful site to help you choose where to camp. And! If you, like me, get a little nauseated just thinking about pitching a tent, this might be a better way to roll. I think even I could enjoy that...
Another day, another wonderful shoot with an amazing pitbull mix. I have had nothing but wonderful sweetness from this breed in my line of work, and I love photographing their sweet, sweet faces. This pup, Milo, belongs to the fabulous VetGirl (aka, Dr. Justine Lee). If you don't follow this lady on Facebook/Twitter etc and you are a dog lover, you should get right on that. Her updated posts on the recent outbreak of dog influenza are worth it alone!I had a 9-hour shoot today (not with dogs, but rather with office supplies -- and it was way more fun than it sounds), but I had no time to troll the internet, so I'll try to make it up to you tomorrow. In the mean time, go snuggle the ones you love, eh?
Hey there! I had the sweetest newborn session last night -- look at that adorable outfit that baby boy has on! This week is crazy busy with summer shoots, so I expect to post a lot of images from my paid gigs -- I hope y'all are cool with that. For your internet share of the day, at this point in time, this is the profession that Ezra is most skilled for at the moment. And I would be THRILLED.But if that doesn't interest you (WHICH IT SHOULD), here is the proper way to load the dishwasher. Word.
Aw, who can resist those eyes? This is Dolly, my parents' beagle. When I was home last week, staying at my parents' home, I was taking care of this sweet girl. She snuggled with me each night in bed, and we went for long walks and she won my heart over quickly. Don't you love her eyes? Like Memphis, she appears to be wearing eyeliner. Such beauty!Today's internet shares are all about pretty places. First, if I *had* to go back to Miami (please Lord, don't ever make me do that), I would stay here and be happy. And second, if I *had* to work for someone else again, this would be pretty nice...
Today was spent at the hospital with Mom, and trust me when I tell you there's not much here that's visually pleasing. I spent a few hours working on some of my photo shoots from earlier in the week, and I loved this little nugget's hair swirl, so I thought I would show you that instead. For your internet share of the day, check out these amazing bike helmets. For the first time ever, I want one!
I spent most of the day with Mom at the hospital. We read trashy magazines, played cards, shampoo'd her hair and applied fresh makeup. Between that and keeping everyone updated on mom's progress, I'm pretty wiped out. More tomorrow...
I had a super fun engagement session on Monday night between emotional phone calls with family and a huge storm. It was just what I needed -- sometimes a creative distraction falls in at the perfect moment.Today, I've been busy with work meetings, phone calls and emails all while flying to Wichita on the cheapest flight I could find on short notice during the week of a holiday. Which is why I am in Chicago on a 3.5 hour layover. But you know what they have at this airport? A yoga room! With mats to use! You better believe I took advantage of that perk right there. For your internet share of the day, this made me laugh HARD. It just takes a second. Go enjoy that slice of life.
