Today, our patio was completed! But I'm not showing you all of it because the light isn't right to photograph it. I know! Annoying, right?! The problem is that for the next two days, I am booked in shoots during the prime hours for best daylight. Which means you'll have to wait until next week to see the finished project. This is a pretty good teaser though! Our yard is on a slope, and so this is the back of the patio. The front is level with the yard. Can I tell you how much I love that stone wall? LOVE IT.For your internet share of the day, these photos of masses of people are beautiful. And I'm not a camping kinda girl (obviously), but I might be able to be convinced if you have one of these...
I had a very short break this morning before my shoot started, so I took the train to the National Mall and walked around snapping photos like a tourist. Although, if I were a *real* tourist, I would have been taking the images with my iPad. :)I walked all of my 10,000 steps before noon today, and now that I'm home, I'm closing in on 20,000. I doubt I'll make it though as I'm about to collapse into a heap of exhaustion. No internet share today -- too wiped. Instead, enjoy this bonus shot of President Lincoln's memorial.
What a day! I am in DC right now on a photo assignment (!!), and I'm having a blast. Tonight, after we'd wrapped up for the day, we walked out into Old Town Alexandria and had an amazing dinner. On our way back to the hotel, I caught these delicious clouds -- so lovely. And now I'm back at the Westin about to crawl into my heavenly bed where my heavenly infant cannot wake me. Oh dear lord, I am so excited.But. In other news, it was announced today that the Star Tribune has bought City Pages and is closing down Vita.mn. This is so sad, as that was such a huge part of my career. I devoted seven years to that magazine, and I learned so much and did some of the work I am most proud of while there. I am, of course, sad about its demise. For your internet share today, how about we cheer things up with celebrity prom photos? Come on, you know you want to see what Brad Pitt, Michelle Obama and Julia Roberts wore!
I had a meeting get postponed this morning, and it opened up my day a bit -- which is amazing when the weather is like this. So what did I do with my extra time? I met my husband for lunch al fresco and then spun around Lake Harriet to see if the trees were in bloom. Yup! Aren't they lovely? If you look closely, it looks like there are specks of dust on my lens or something. You know what those tiny specks are? Bees! So I left them in the photo. This weather right here makes me want to eat ALL my meals outside. Good thing that patio is coming along! I should have more photos by the end of the week! For your internet share, here is your friendly reminder that if you think you might ever want a website in your name, you should get on that. And here is something for all you dog lovers out there.
How adorable is this girl, eh? This is Maui and she was one of *many* amazing dogs I got to photograph today at my May Day shoot over at Woof Central. Holy cow, was this fun!I have so many more images I want to show you, but I'm running late for a date out on the town with my husband. So forgive me if I make that my top priority! For your internet share, how about these photos of David Letterman as he prepares to sign off of television. Man, I loved his show so much when I was younger. Those McDonald's drive-thru skits just killed me.
I've been keeping this on the down low because... well... it's embarrassing. See, last week after an *amazing* yoga class, I was back at work, carrying my coffee upstairs, when I tripped. And coffee went everywhere. And I fell on the stairs. And I tore my calf muscle pretty bad. There may have been some screaming, cussing and tears. Magda was hiding under the dresser, she was so nervous. Anyway, I spent the weekend icing it and keeping it elevated and staying off of it, but today, almost a week later, it wasn't much better. So I sucked up my pride and went to the doctor. The good news is that I don't need crutches and I'm not injuring myself further by walking on it. The bad news is that it hurts a lot, and there's nothing I can do for it, and it will take about a month to heal. A MONTH. And in that time, there is to be no yoga and no dog walks. Yeah guys, Magda is PISSED.Let's get to the internet shares, shall we? First off, I'm too claustrophobic to go scuba diving, but this sure is awesome. Second, who wants to come over for pink grapefruit margaritas? And third, I can't resist these pretty ladies made of paper. You know me. I'm a sucker for this stuff.
When I said yesterday that I would have to go back to Red Wagon pizza so I could take a photo and show it to you, I honestly didn't think I'd return only 24 hours later. But today was glorious outside, and Jamie and I agreed that we really wanted to dine on a patio somewhere. And he suggested pizza... sooooo, off we went! I didn't mind (I could eat pizza all day and all night), and this way I could try one of the pies I had my eye on the night before! And? Ezra got to try it as well. As you can guess, pizza was a HUGE hit with the kid.For your internet share of the day, this podcast about human behavior and facebook FASCINATED me today. Just go click on it and listen in the background while you work today. Pretty interesting stuff...
I am sharing this photo with you today for two reasons. First, it totally cracks me up. These two were in my studio this week for my Mother's Day sessions, and once the boy put on the mustache, we were goofing around with funny poses and I suggested fake fighting. It's especially funny because these two are obviously so nuts about each other, but they both also love hamming it up in front of the camera -- which made them super fun to work with! The second reason I'm showing you this photo is because I intended to photograph Red Wagon Pizza tonight as I was there for dinner and it was spectacular and beautiful and totally photo worthy! But I forgot to take a photo. Because I just wanted to eat the pizza. BAD BLOGGER! So I suppose I will have to return and do that another day!For your internet share today, check out these amazing bird photographs that won the contest from Audubon. Just amazing work here.
